Investment for the Future: A Study on the Early Childhood Education in Zambia Education is considered as an important component for sustainable development of society since the adoption of Millennium Development Goals in 2000. Especially, child education is expected to be one of the efficient way to achieve MDGs, it is directly linked with Goal 2(Achieve Universal Primary Education) and has implications on Goal 1(Eradicate Extreme Poverty and Hunger) and Goal 3(Reduce Child Mortality). There has been visible progress on access to early childhood education in many countries but on the other hand, actual situation of the education is still questionable regarding with the accessibility, quality and equity to the education for child. The situation in Zambia today seemed to be quite hopeful than other sub-Saharan countries. However, vulnerable and underserved children are often excluded from the formal educational system. In addition, children who are 7 years old are the most disadvantaged group. Formal education during the early years of children is very important to form their personality and develop intelligence in life. The researcher attempted to understand the reality of the environment of the early childhood education in Zambia. Furthermore, this research tried to bridge the needs between development NGOs in Korea and the field through comprehending the efforts of each main actor such as the government of the Republic of Zambia(GRZ), NGOs and inter-governmental organization(IGO) to improve the child education in Zambia
